Unstoppable time.

Updated: Jun 7, 2022

UPDATED JUNE 7TH 2022

Time. Unfortunately, we do not appreciate it while we are young. As small children, we worry only about our toys and being with our friends. In our teens we know we're invincible and our family members will always be there. We do not think about aging, but suddenly you blink, wondering where the time went.

I wish I could bottle or slow the years down but there is no stopping the locomotive running over the tracks taking us to the end of our own years.

I suppose having recently turned 62 (ouch, it hurts to admit to that) and now watching my mother's memory fade away, and receiving the news early this morning that my Aunt Nyla left this earth to be with Elvis- (Those who knew her know her connection to him.) -is cause for me to be a bit melancholy, not to mention sad.

We will all miss her and talk about the interesting life she lived.

In this photo, she is 4 years old (1948) Wasn't she a beautiful child? She was in many parades and even met Roy Rogers and his horse Trigger.

In this photo, she is 18 and modeling for KFYR TV in Bismarck, ND.

She has met and stayed in touch with many stars. She met Conway Twitty when she was 14 or 15. He was just starting out and she and a friend were introduced to him. He and his guys sat with them all night and he called her little miss muffit. Because of her dress. Haha.

She starred in a hometown production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and later won a contest in the 80s to be an extra on the hit soap opera CAPITOL. She was blessed to know a few amazing authors such as Penny Richards, musicians, and theatre people. What an amazing life!!!

You are on a new journey Aunt Nyla. We will miss you!
